Trixie & Walter are probably the most relaxed bridal couple I have ever met. It was a pure pleasure photographing them. Since they had their civil ceremony with their families and witnesses a few days before, there was no time pressure at all and we could start with the portraits session first. Trixie spontaneously decided to leave her green converse on for the day as it was simply more practical and you couldn’t really see them underneath her dress. Let me tell you, she is really easy going like that – it wasn’t just for the photos. Oh how happy I was about that :).
After the photo session, we drove with a horse & carriage to the barn where all their guests welcomed the newlyweds with floating balloons. Walti’s father even hand-made a special wedding balloon for them as a present. After they let all balloons fly, they kicked off the wedding party with an Apero and a little game: as both of them love sailing, all of the guests were grouped together and had to handcraft paper (sail-)planes. The team whose planes flew the longest, won. They all had great fun with it and it was a good way to get to know each other. In the evening they had a big barbecue with the most delicious food you can imagine. If you are near Meierskappel one day, drop by at Bauernhof Gerbe for a supper or lunch. You won’t regret it.
As Trixie is a huge fan of Rolling Stones, the couple hired the probably best Rolling Stones cover band in Germany: The Bigger Bang. Check them out as well. The name says it. They really did a great job, all the people loved it and danced cheerfully into the night.
Trixie & Walti, thank you so much for having Paul & I as your wedding photographers. I wish you all the best and much love for your marriage – and that you sail happily into your new life together.
