“Wer liebt und geliebt wird, hat die Sonne von beiden Seiten”.
This quote was written on their wedding invitation and this really was the theme of the day.
Even though rain was forecasted all day, the wedding celebration wasn’t disturbed at all. The timing was just perfect. But let me tell you from the start:
Miriam & Florian chose to have their ceremony in the St. Chrischona church high up on Basel’s hill St. Chrischona, from there their guests had a truly stunning view. Miriam looked so beautiful and elegant as her father walked her down the aisle. The whole ceremony was very moving and at the same time cheerful due to the one or other little unplanned surprises.
Afterwards the guests welcomed the newlyweds in the Villa Wenkenhof, a grand mansion opposite the Beyeler Foundation in Riehen, where the apéro and the evening do was held. The couple and the guests could enjoy a warm summer day on the mansion’s terrace the whole afternoon and also during the evening reception. The thunderstorm came – just in time when the guests were seated inside and the food arrived. It actually made the atmosphere quite cosy and later on, everybody enjoyed the fresh air after hitting the dance floor. It was needed as the band they hired were absolutely brilliant. Beautiful, very funny and emotional speeches were held as well. Paul even had to poke me once to remind me to take photos as I was completely absorbed by the stories, photos and videos they presented.
Miriam & Florian, you are such a lovely and kind couple. Paul and I wish you a very happy and joyful life together. Much love x
